A monthly letter from the desk of Sarah Fejfar

Spring sure feels good this year, doesn’t it?!My favorite adventure this past month was taking a solo road trip to the Skagit River Valley in Washington to fulfill my dream of walking in a daffodil field. Check! I look forward to growing my own flower farm one day!I then wandered up the Salish Sea coast checking out the scenery. Before I knew it, I was almost in Canada and while I wanted to go, and happened to have my passport on me, it was time to head home. It’s crazy fun to explore all the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest! So, what did I learn last month? Great question, I’d love to tell you. (Yes, I stole that line from my new favorite comedian, Elyse Myers.)

  1. PODCASTING: Just when I thought I’d learned all there is to know on the topic from John Lee Dumas’ course, I hired a podcasting coach (rockstar Marion Abrams, who grew the Spartan Up! podcast to over 40M downloads) and the growth has been painful and outstanding all at the same time. I’ve learned weirdly simple (yet impactful) stuff, like mic technique or why it’s VIP to listen to my episodes as if I were one of my listeners and notice where I tune out (get bored) or confused or redundant or want to hit rewind because I loved what I heard.

  2. MEANING IS FOUND IN MOTION: I read Donald Miller’s Hero On a Mission while on vacation last week and absolutely loved it. My favorite lesson was a conversation about how meaning is found in motion, pulled from Victor Frankle’s Man’s Search for Meaning.

  3. #1 VALUE: I love The Home Edit, naturally, me and tidy, organized, rainbow ordered spaces go together like peanut butter and jelly… so when one half of The Home Edit duo, announced she had breast cancer earlier this month I was shocked and saddened by the news. But it was also a wonderful reminder that health IS my #1 value. Without that, I have nothing. I have preventive good checks that I’ve put off scheduling and IF I’m being congruent with my values, then it’s high time to get them scheduled. Chop chop.

This month I’m tackling:

  • Repurposing my podcast content and better utilizing my assistant to support me in this area.

  • Business Strategy: I hired an online business manager to help me strategize a launch it’s been excellent and thought-provoking to answer questions about my mission and values and goals in service of determining my immediate next steps.

  • Client Work: I’m helping some clients with their marketing and sharpening my own saw at the same time and that’s super fun. Yes, events can help your business scale but without the right marketing behind them, what’s the point?

And there you have it, my April update for you. Just thought I’d share and keep in contact.I hope this note finds you and your loved ones happy and healthy.Make it an outstanding rest of the month!
