A monthly letter from the desk of Sarah Fejfar

Hey there

Remember back in grade school during standardized tests when the teacher would make the announcement "pencils down?"

I had to tell myself that this week.  I spent May finishing my sales page for Live Event Academy (you can peek here: www.sarahfejfar.com/academy (any and all feedback is welcome)) and while there's so much more I could do and want to do, I had to tell myself, it's good enough to move on to my next project (the live webinar funnel) and I can make it better after the funnel is up and running.

I'm training myself to be more about progress and imperfect action and less about perfection... and gosh it's hard.  This quote by Ira Glass is exactly why.

So, we've made it into June.  Blows my mind. It’s summer! This is exciting stuff!

What did you learn last month?

Here are a few of my most notable learnings:

  1. EVERYTHING is figureoutable.  I read Marie Forleo's book of the same name in May (it's good - worth a read.) I firmly believe my belief in the "everything is figureoutable" mantra is one of the reasons I've been so successful. However, in reading the book I uncovered that while I "thought" "everything is figureoutable" was my mantra, I was being selective. There are, in fact, a couple of areas of my life where I don't hold that belief.  So, it's time to change that.

  2. Streak Trackers Work. I believe (part of) the magic of Peloton is their streak trackers. (Gosh I love that business for so many reasons.)  I am certain that's why I've stayed consistent for the last year and a half and gotten on the bike every weekday morning. I learned discipline on that bike because… I don't want to break my streak.  Self-integrity in action.  So, I’m keeping my eye out for where I can apply streak trackers to other parts of my life.

  3. Journaling Keeps Me Focused. I spend about 30 minutes each morning journaling.  I've become consistent about the habit for the last year and what I've noticed is that while sometimes I still catch myself thinking that it's incredibly selfish and a time-waster, when I think from a more strategic perspective, I believe it's actually saving me time by keeping me focused on what matters since part of my journaling is committing to what I will 1. accomplish and 2. enjoy and 3. learn that day.

What are you working on this month? Outside of client projects, here's what I'm tackling:

  1. Webinar Funnel: Now that the sales page is done, I'm going to tackle the live webinar funnel this month. I've built and managed successful webinar funnels for many clients, but somehow it feels different to be doing it for myself... 😊

  2. Outreach: It’s been too easy for the independent introvert in me to lose touch with valuable connections and forget how many people are in my corner.  This month, I’m starting outreach via Zoom to reconnect with people I never should have lost touch within the first place. 😊

  3. Up My Mental Game: The more I get into entrepreneurship the more I'm learning so much of it is the mental game.  I’m working this month (and forever from this day forward) on a top-down approach to the logical levels pyramid. i.e., who would I be, what would I do, and how would I feel if I already had…

And there you have it, my June update for you.  Just thought I’d share and keep in contact.

I hope this note finds you, and your loved ones happy and healthy.

Make it an outstanding weekend,

Sarah
