A monthly letter from the desk of Sarah Fejfar

I vividly remember the day I picked my daughter up from 2nd grade last year, a few school days before Spring Break was to start and being told “we’ll see you after Spring Break!”  I was shocked her school was temporarily shutting its doors.

And as I sit here writing this note to you, 50 weeks in, she’s still doing school online in the next room, nearly a year later… and we just got word that won’t change this school year.

I’m going to choose to remember this time for all the gifts it brought upon our family and all the struggles we overcame, together… and how the three of us learned we’re so much stronger than we think.

What was the biggest gift that came from the last year in your life?

I couldn’t let this milestone pass without a bit of reflection, but I digress… let’s get down to business… I’m curious, what did you learn about yourself or your business last month?

Here’s what I learned (or was reminded of):

>>>I was put on this Earth to… help influencers get their message out into the world using the vehicle of live events.  In February, I attended a 1-day virtual live event hosted by Jaime Kern Lima.  The event took place the day before the launch of her first book, Believe It. (A great read by the way, I recommend it.)  The event was full of speakers all sharing their messages on confidence building.  And while the speakers and content were all amazing, that’s not what was jaw-dropping for me.  What turned my head was that this was her *first* event.  Over 216,000 people (yes, thousands!) registered for her live event.  (Side note: she just entered the influencer space after transiting out of the inventor / corporate space and is creating her audience from scratch.)  Think of the ripple effect that event will have in communities across the globe because thousands of women walked away from that event feeling empowered with new tools and mindset shifts.  Was that all possible because she knew how to put on an event? That she’d done them before?  Nope.  It was possible because she had the forethought to gather coaches and consultants in the live event space around her to help her make it happen.  It takes a village.  Brendon Burchard taught her how to publish and launch a book.  Tony Robbins refined the virtual event stadium model and lent her his virtual event stadium for the event.  Dean Graziosi has been honing the online direct response marketing model and helped fill her event.  SAGE spent over a decade developing their event management model so they could help plan and execute her world-class event. The speakers spent years honing their craft so they could deliver with excellence.   Seeing the success of her book launch event, reinvigorated me towards my mission to help influencers start and scale world-class events in their businesses.  Being the person who helps people get their message out in a bigger way, lights me up inside.  Seeing the transformations kick off in event guests, lights me up inside.  I feel so lucky to be on this path… because I KNOW there are so many more influencers, like Jaime, out there needing help, and I know I can help them.

>>>It’s ok to ask for help.  I’m not awesome at asking for help, yet.  But in February, I did it.  I reached out and asked for or accepted help in a few areas of my life and I’m already seeing a positive impact.  I recommend it… asking for help that is. 😊  My heart melted last week knowing Jaime believed in her message enough to go all-in on getting it out there and asking for help to do so… and I need to do more of it myself.

>>>Unplugging is good.  I was pretty good (3 of 4) in February about unplugging on the weekends, like I know I should, and that time for my mind to wander is excellent for idea generation.  I recommend it… not working on the weekends that is. 😊  While not working last weekend, I also learned that when trying cross country skiing for the first time as a family, it’s helpful to assess trail distances in advance so you don’t accidentally take a route that’s 3.5 hours long and leaves everyone in your party nearly paralyzed in exhaustion for the next 24 hours… It was pretty tho.

That said, it’s a new month with new opportunities.  Let’s go!

What are you trying to accomplish in March?

Here are three of my goals:

>>>Webinar Funnel Building: as embarrassing as it is to admit, I’ve been trying to start this project for several months and simply put, haven’t put enough hours of my week into making it happen.  So, I reshuffled the deck last month, with the help of a Certified High-Performance Coach, and have carved out time dedicated to THIS project, my #1 priority, every weekday.  And I’m excited about that. #progress

>>>Continuing my Instagram Challenge: last month, I challenged myself to show up differently on Instagram, to try the new strategies I’d learned, and surprisingly, it worked.  So, this month, I’m going to keep going and aim for more volume (consistency!)

>>>Being an Outstanding Mom: we’ve got a lot going on right now for my kiddo to ensure she thrives amidst the pandemic challenges of social isolation and online school.  It’s my job to manage it all well and I intend to continue to do so this month with the mindset that it’s a privilege and a gift.

And there you have it, my March update for you.  Just thought I’d share and keep in contact.

I hope this note finds you and your loved ones happy and healthy.

Make it an awesome weekend,

Sarah
