A monthly letter from the desk of Sarah Fejfar

Hey there

It’s such an exciting and hopeful time of 2021. Do you feel it too?!

When I looked back at our photos from the past month to select my favorite adventure to share with you, I was struck by the fact that so many of my favorites in November were the result of minuscule decisions. … tiny, hey why don’t we just stop here and check it out or let’s use what’s left of the afternoon to try something new, or let’s drive a little further and see what’s there, kind of adventures.

One Saturday we went on a hunt to recreate a picture I found on Instagram. Silly, perhaps, but one of the adventure inspiration accounts I follow posted this photo of a hiker at Trillium Lake up on Mount Hood, and never having been there myself, I instantly knew I had to have that picture too (but more so the adventure that went with getting it.)  It felt fun to succeed and then it led to us having the best time down the road from there getting soaked playing in a mountain stream (the White River) all afternoon.

All that said, I’m curious…

What did you learn last month?

Here are a few of my November learnings:

  1. Self-Awareness: I was surprised by how much I learned about myself when I read the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker last month. It’s exciting to better understand why I do what I do and get clarity on spots I want to change.

  2. Thanksgiving: I learned a fun fact about the history of Thanksgiving while reading this bedtime story to my kiddo. Turns out a woman named Sarah Hale persisted over 36 years sending letters to several presidents, culminating with President Lincoln, to get Thanksgiving made into an official holiday.

  3. Peer Mastermind: I started a peer mastermind in November, and it’s been an excellent source of accountability and problem solving for me. I learned this might be one of my best decisions of 2021! Self-integrity is big for me but having an extra layer of protection never hurts!

What are you working on this month?

Here’s what I’m working on:

  1. Networking: I’m continuing my focus on networking. Maintaining relationships feels good, and I am starting to sense the flywheel effect in action. One of the reasons I decided on an interview-based format for my new podcast is so it will act as a catalyst for ongoing networking; a good thing for an introvert like me.

  2. Launching a Podcast: I’m getting close to making my goal of launching a podcast by the end of the year a reality. Yay! This is a big focus in December for me.

  3. Pondering this Question: I'm noodling on the question, now that I have a finished product, a 7-week course, in the can, who could I sell it to in bulk? A mentor of mine used to sell a course on the topic of DIY YouTube videos. And they sold it one by one until one day, the owner of a large network marketing company came to them and asked to buy licenses for their entire army of sellers (tens of thousands) who needed help learning to make their own YouTube videos. So, my mind is pondering where a similar opportunity might exist for me to help with events.

And there you have it, my December update for you. Just thought I’d share and keep in contact.

I hope this note finds you and your loved ones happy and healthy.

Make it an outstanding December and a very Merry Christmas!

Warm Regards,
Sarah
